India’s most famous icon, Mahatma Gandhi, would be 152 on Saturday, October 2, 2021. In honor of his legacy of peace, non-violence and equality for all, we will be donating 10% of our sales that day to the Gandhi Ashram in Ahmedabad, India.
The Ashram represents Gandhi’s ultimate goal of non-violence and education for all people. He spent the last 12 years of his life working to provide necessities for the most impoverished children of India. We do not want to let his work go unfinished.
The Gandhi Ashram needs help in several crucial areas: The water supply is not adequate for the needs of the children and staff, basic medical care needs to be provided and their dining and kitchen facilities need improvement. As Gandhi’s work continued after his life ended, we are obligated to carry his efforts forward until they are met.
If you would like to donate and can’t join us, please do so through www.CompassionateChefs.org. Your donation will be helping kids across the street at the Tenderloin After School Program and across the ocean at the Gandhi Ashram. Make your reservation for dinner today and celebrate Gandhi’s birthday or call 415-397-8470.
