Crash an Indian Wedding Reception with Non Stop Bhangra

Have you ever wanted to crash an Indian Wedding Reception, where you walk into a room filled with bright beautiful outfits, arms in the air, swirling of colors as the dancing becomes an expression of the joyous occasion? Here’s your opportunity to become part of that exuberant celebration without the stress of last minute gifts and the long speeches. This month’s theme for Non Stop Bhangra is “Crash an Indian Wedding Reception”, without the guilt of not being invited.

New Delhi Restaurant will be providing tikka masala wraps, papadums, lentil chips and other goodies for your late night snacking pleasure every second Saturday. The fun starts at 9:00 pm on Saturday, Aug 11th at Public Works 161 Erie Street, San Francisco. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Details and ticket purchasing can both be done here.

Curries, Chutneys and Cocktails

Staring in September, New Delhi Restaurant will be celebrating seasonal produce with a monthly tasting menu. Take a culinary adventure exploring seasonal and organic corn, spinach, peaches and strawberries created with Kashmiri Mild Curry Blend by Chef Ranjan Dey. A vodka-infused Ginger Peach Cocktail can round out your dinner.

A taste of late summer will be served starting in September. Get a peek at the menu here. (.pdf format)

Ranjan and New Delhi Restaurant featured at SF Chefs 2012

The Golden Gate Restaurant Association welcomed San Francisco to their annual SF Chefs event - a great chance to see what our local chefs are working on and how they are inspired. Ranjan was there, sharing his curries and other tasty goodies.

See who else was there.

Escape With A Mango

Mangos are in season right now and there is no better way to beat the heat than by eating a mango while naked in the bathtub
(according to Ranjan’s grandmother, anyway). Find out some other mango tricks and history in this very popular episode of My India with Ranjan Dey.

Henna Party and Indian Wedding catering in one stop

No Indian wedding is complete without a little - or a lot of - henna. Consider it a masala blend of spa day and bridal shower; the
mehhendi ceremony is an important part of every Indian wedding. When the bride has her henna applied and all her female relatives and friends gather to honor her, swap stories, sing songs and welcome each other into the family. New Delhi Restaurant has been the host of many mehendi parties.
We can provide everything from the henna artists to the cocktails to the wedding reception dinner buffet - just tell us what you need! More info here.

Citizens of the World hit the road!

Compassionate Chefs Cafe realized a long-term goal this summer when we were able to bring a group of children from India to meet their friends (and make new ones) at the Tenderloin After School Program and see them perform at Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. The entire trip created memories and connections that will last a lifetime. We could not have done it without your help - for which we are extremely thankful.
